Itinerary

Day 14x4 Jeep Tour "The Secret of Bali" (west of Bali)

Today Bali is already too touristy in many areas, so we need to integrate ourselves into the real Bali! That Bali that our grandparents discovered…
But we need Jeeps (4×4) Land Rovers, equipped with a powerful engine and a modern structure to access roads that a normal car could not get through. The roof window will be opened for you so that you can stand up and have much better panoramic views than from a normal car. Beware of the branches of the banana trees! After a strong 4×4 picks you up at your hotel, our tour will start driving to the small village of Pejaten, where we can see the interesting process of making tiles for Balinese houses, made by hand and cooked with coconut crust. Then, if you wish, you can visit a ceramic factory recognized worldwide for its quality so fine and so nice touches .. you will be amazed by the patience with which they work!
We will continue our tour to see the lifestyle in the local market of Kerambitan and the artificial lake of Telaga Tunjung, where we will learn about the complex system of water irrigation. Then we will pass through cocoa plantations. We will have a coffee break in a traditional Balinese house of a family who will welcome us with his big smile and invite us to take Balinese coffee and traditional sweets, while we get information about the interesting structure of a Balinese house. We will continue our tour visiting more rice fields, so beautiful in Bali, reaching Tamba Waras Temple, a historic temple of the king of Tabanan of the fifteenth century, as he was ill and sent a person who did meditation, to have some kind of inspiration and find a cure. Mysteriously, under some giant bamboos he saw some smoke and a sacred spring, which he used as medicine to permanently cure his king. Tamba means medicine and Waras means health. Then we will cross rice fields, to reach the famous Jatiluwih Rice Fields, named World Heritage Site by UNESCO, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant overlooking these beautiful rice fields. Transfer back to your hotel. These 4×4 Jeep are supporting the SUSTAINABLE TOURISM (UNESCO), since your visit:
– improves the quality of life of the inhabitants of the place
– strengthens their cultural and social values
– is creating added value to your visit
